To seek Change or let it happen?

January 20, 2011 - Leave a Response

Funny, the word change is so overused these days. Think about it, how many times do you hear it in your everyday surroundings? in songs? in the news?

So if change occurs everyday around us without our input, why do we sit and let it happen? Rather why don’t we get in the middle and shake it up, have an impact on our own daily lives to in turn eliminate the finger pointing and blame?

I learned of a change last week, that has really made me start thinking, I need to be more proactive….period.

Happy 84th!

Well today marks another great day in the history of music, the great icon known as Tony Bennett was born and given to us some 84 years ago. To say he has made it a better place for all of us is clearly understated, well, maybe for me. So to that, all I can say is thank you Tony, it was 5 years ago that I was able to see you play on the hallowed stage of the Ryman Auditorium. You charmed us with you stories, and graced us with your wit and talent, there will never be another like you, and thank god for that!

Cheers

It’ HOT!

July 23, 2010 - Leave a Response

Literally and Figuratively!  With temps peaking in the high 90′s & the heat index eclipsing well over 100, Nashville Tennessee is HOT! But don’t let that stop you from taking a look at downtown Nashville for your next gathering or event, deals are HOT as well and won’t be around for long as we are seeing same major recovery in our industry and market. So what better time than now to visit the town that Music calls home!   Peace & Happiness, and enjoy a great weekend.

Skating flat_______

April 23, 2010 - Leave a Response

Last night the Nashville Predators skated flat and unmanaged, they could not hold on to the puck and distribute it nicely like they had in their two previous victories. Several scoring opportunities escaped them, even a 5 on 3 powerplay, seriously!!!!  There is a healthy balance of focus and staying off the back of your heals….

Much like life, if you walk flat, and don’t pay attention and adjust, your powerplay will not score you any acheivements.

Can I get an Amen?

Well played, well done

So the Vancouver Olympics are finished, and if you are like me you are always said to see something great come to an end. Unfortunately it did not end the way some of us US Hockey fans would have liked, but to say I’m not damn proud of our boys would be a travesty. TV viewing has been rather fun and stimulating the last several weeks and now we are forced to return to what some call ‘primetime’ TV. Well, I can guarantee you I will not be tuning into the Marriage Ref which proves to be a desperate attempt by NBC to conjure up some badly needed viewership. Integrity once again out the window, couples airing their problems out on national TV just to declare the husband or wife a winner??  Good grief, that will get to the root of relationship issues and help all of those who need the advice to heed to the understanding that in a relationship you need to have a winner?  NOPE, for me, I plan on seeking out Ryan Kesler, captain of the US Hockey Team who happens to be staying at my Hotel this weekend back with his team the Vancouver Canucks and thanking him for leading our US Men’s Hockey team, with class, integrity and charisma. Too bad the same can not be said NBC’s new lineup…

Thanks Ryan, well played, well done

Olympics

February 15, 2010 - Leave a Response

It is that time again where the spirit of true competition and the pride of one’s heritage collide into what we know as the Olympics! I love watching the competitions, summer and winter, if makes for some real quality TV viewing. Of course this year started off on a somber note, and the footage of the incident is hard to take. Now the story is that the athlete was afraid of the course which makes the story even harder to grasp. So why did he compete?

Many people speak about fear and it’s relation to their chosen trade, I must say that I do not have a lot of fears when it comes to doing what I do, however if I did and it involved the possibility of death, I would choose a different path. It is very disappointing that we lost a life at such a young age, death is never easy to take regardless of age. I am stuck wondering how this could have been avoided, and what will be done in the future to deter such events from happening again.

All for the Glory

So Lane Kiffin moves to USC? After 14 months? WOW, I’m proud with the fact that I focus on my integrity within y character. Can the same be said for many people in the sports arena? Brett Favre anyone? Retired, yet how will we believe him when he claims it yet again? Steroids anyone? Why yes Mark McGuire. I promise to focus on myself, and not the so-called Sports Heros.

Overthinking

So I finally shared a drink and broke bread with a dear friend and mentor last night, the topic? Relationship. Not relationships, just the relationship that matters the most, in his case his wife, my case my girlfriend. We both shared some stories, situations and more, but at the end he looked at me and kinda chuckled and said, “I don’t want an answer to this question” and he said this many many times to make it clear to me, this is rhetorical, “Are you over-thinking things?”; Hm

I have so often said that to myself, I surround myself with motivation, positive geared curriculum, and I didn’t answer him but I wanted to admit, yes I do, over-think EVERYTHING. So, I pledge to myself, and challenge everyone, stop thinking so much, act, live, love and enjoy your partner for all the reasons for which you are with them, and let all of the other baggage go.

Don’t Over-think!

Daddy’s little girls

January 21, 2009 - Leave a Response

So I keep seeing the media hounding the Obama girls and thinking to myself, ‘I wonder if dad asked them if it was OK that he run for the presidency?’ Afterall their lives are bound to be changed more so than that of their dad the President, AND at a very tender age. The idols and stars they worship now worshiping their father in a sense, hm, I do wish the absolute best for them, and do hope that their path is not that of any displayed but THEIR predecessors.

Times are tough…..knock on Wood

SO, I think it is safe to say that the economy is turning a little scary, and people are allowing it to scare them. I’m reading about people dropping off their pets because they can not even afford to feed them, in fact the tagline read, ‘feed your pets, or feed your kids’. Excuse me? I’m sorry, I fail to see the reasoning behind this argument, if you truly do love animals you are not going to give them up that easily, nonetheless, I’m not sure one pet’s intake is really breaking your bank, which means you probably should not have taken on the pet to begin with. How much is a bag of dog food? Cat food? Have you heard of coupons? What about the campanionship that the pet brings into the home? Does it really solve a long term financial crisis?  If I were challenged by any of these knuckleheads, I guarantee I would find a carton of Marlboro Lights in their possession while they were on their way to the liquor store. C’mon people, get smart and make the right decisions to solidify your future, like kicking the bad habits and learn to do without some of those extra guity pleasures for the time being, and for the love of all things domestic, don’t make your pet problem someone elses!

I firmly believe the economy will make a turn and we will be able to tell our grandkids about 2008, the year of the floods, and flooding gas prices. Oh, and the year that your cousin was scarred for life because Fluffy dissappeared, or atleast that’s what your cousin was told.
